Events

Open House

This event offers an opportunity for the parents to come see what their children do during the day. This also allows parents to develop a greater understanding of the Montessori Method as well as ask the teachers questions about the upcoming year.

School Picnic

Twice a year, one of the families that attends our school hosts a picnic at their house! They have 35 acres and we enjoy fishing and rowing on their pond, hiking on their trails, relaxing in nature, and a bonfire to end the day. This is lots of fun for the whole family.

International Dinner

This is our favorite event of the year! Each year our school celebrates the holidays with this dinner that celebrates the many cultures and religions represented by our families. Each family brings a traditional dish to share with everyone and our program celebrates the diversity seen in our school.

International Festival

Each year we perform at the Annual International Festival of North Alabama. This family friendly event features performances for several cultures represented in our community. We sing various songs and children are given the opportunity to perform songs or dances from their culture.

Mother's Day Dinner

One of the concepts we teach in lower elementary is etiquette. In honor of Mother's Day, the children hold a dinner for their parents. They set the table, serve their parents and teachers, and play hosts and hostess.

Graduation

At the end of the school year, we host a graduation to celebrate the childrens accomplishments. Children who are moving on to a higher level are given certificates and every child in the school is given a virtue card to recognize a virtue they have shown throughout the year.

Field Trips

Lyon Family Farms

Each year we go to Lyon Family Farms to pick our pumpkins, learn about nature and farm-life, and pet some goats!

Huntsville Botanical Gardens

We go to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens each year! This is a fun filled family event where the parents and kids can bond and spend some time in the gardens.

And many more...

We also do other field trips! This includes going to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, the McWane Science Center in Birmingham, and the Cook Museum in Decatur.
